First we cross the Sydney Harbour Bridge to North Sydney for views of the Sydney Opera House and the city skyline, from Milsons Point and Kirribilli. Kirribilli hosts the location of 'Kirribilli House' and 'Admiralty House', residences of both the Prime Minister and Governor General when they are in New South Wales. Travelling to the Northern Beaches via Neutral Bay and Mossman, we cross Middle Harbour via the Spit Bridge, turning off tree-lined Wakehurst Parkway to visit the renowned surf beaches of Collaroy, Dee Why and Manly. Manly is one of Sydney’s most popular ocean beaches. At adjacent Freshwater Beach, the dawn of surfboard riding was introduced by the great aquatic Hawaiian Duke Kahanamoku in 1915. The first official world surfboard riding championship was also held at Manly Beach in 1964.

North Head Lookout at Manly, captivates the spectacular views of the entrance into Sydney Harbour and the City of Sydney in the background. Leaving Manly we drive to Arabanoo Lookout for other spectacular views over the Harbour entrance and out to the Tasman Sea. Returning to Sydney and crossing the harbour via the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, we visit The Sydney Rocks area to view the historic streets and terraced houses dating back to the 1800s, including Cadman’s Cottage, one of the oldest dwellings in Australia.

The Sydney Opera House, Mrs Macquarie’s Chair, St Mary's Cathedral, Hyde Park and the Hyde Park Barracks, State Parliament House, Royal Botanical Gardens, Queen Victoria Building, Sydney Town Hall, Sydney Tower, Darling Harbour, Sydney Aquarium, Chinatown and points of interest within the Central Business District are included highlights.

Inclusions: Morning or AfternoonTea

Fraser Coast Airport to Urangun Boat Harbour

Fraser Island's World Heritage listing ranks it with Australias Uluru, Kakadu and the Great Barrier Reef. Fraser Island is a precious part of Australias natural and cultural heritage, it is protected for all to appreciate and enjoy.

Fraser island is a place of exceptional beauty, with its long uninterrupted white beaches flanked by strikingly coloured sand cliffs, and over 100 freshwater lakes, some tea-coloured and others clear and blue all ringed by white sandy beaches. Ancient rainforests grow in sand along the banks of fast-flowing, crystal-clear creeks.

Fraser Island is the only place in the world where tall rainforests are found growing on sand dunes at elevations of over 200 metres. The low wallum heaths on the island are of particular evolutionary and ecological significance, and provide magnificent wildflower displays in spring and summer.

The immense sand blows and cliffs of coloured sands are part of the longest and most complete age sequence of coastal dune systems in the world and they are still evolving.

They are a continuous record of climatic and sea level changes over the last 700 000 years. The highest dunes on the island reach up to 240 metres above sea level.

The Great Sandy Strait, separating Fraser Island from the mainland, is listed by the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance (Ramsar Convention).

Humpback whales book their holidays in Hervey Bay from August to October. During this time about a thousand humpbacks spend anywhere from a day or two, to two weeks relaxing and nurturing their calves in the sheltered lee of Fraser Island. Because the whales are taking time out from their migration they provide some of the best whale watching in the world. As they come in close to the boats they are easily seen in the clear waters of the bay.

Whale Watching Fraser Island

Hervey Bay has now been recognised as the only genuine stop-over on the humpback whales' southern migration along Australia's east cast. The calm safe waters of Platypus Bay off the north-western coast of Fraser Island, in the Hervey Bay Marine Park, have become known worldwide as a prime whale watching area.

From August to October humpback whales on their migration south to the Antarctic stop to rest, play and nurture their calves in the bay. After entering the area the whales suddenly stop their migration style swimming and relax with the females concentrating on feeding, preparing their young calves for the 5,000 km journey and teaching them the art of survival.

It is believed that the shallow calm waters provide shelter giving the whales the opportunity to socialise and to give the new-born calves a chance to grow stronger before they continue south.

The clear waters of the Bay provide a perfectly safe resting area for females with their new-born calves, as it is free from their main predators: the Orcas or killer whales and pack sharks.

Today is yours to do as you please. Fraser Island has been named one of the World's Sexiest Islands 2005 by the prestigious American business magazine Forbes. It is the only Australian island in the list. The list says Fraser's "enormous sand dunes provide plenty of space and privacy for frolicking on the beach" and it names Kingfisher Bay Resort as the place to stay.

Fraser Island has an amazing array of natural wonders including over 100 freshwater lakes, some tea-coloured and others clear and blue with white sandy beaches. The island's beautiful sand tracks and the magnificent ocean beach highway are popular for four-wheel driving. Seventy-Five Mile Beach is popular with fishermen. Immense sand blows and cliffs of coloured sands line the beach and the wreck of the cruise ship Maheno sits rusting on the beach. Keep a look out for birds of prey and Fraser Island dingoes.
