June 7-June 27
June 7: First Training selection for the championship in Taaone/Pirae - Tahiti.
June 14: "Teva Nui", one, three and six paddlers race in Papeari - Tahiti.
June 14: "Taikahano", marathon in Taipivai/Taiohae - Marquesas.
June 21: Second Training selection for the championship in Taaona/Pirae - Tahiti.
June 27, 28: "Heva I Tahiti", different races with different categories in Papeete - Tahiti.
"Tama Hiti Rau"
Mid-June - Tahiti
Traditional Dance Performance by several dancing schools at the To'ata Square in Papeete.
Championnat de Tahiti "Tuaro Maohi 2009"

Traditional sports' competition including javelin throwing, stone lifting, coconut tree climbing and canoe racing.
Heiva Nui of the Artisans
Mid-June to Mid-July - Tahiti
A big crafts exhibition based around the theme of Polynesian legends that brings together all the artists from the four corners of French Polynesia. These men and women of amazing manual dexterity display their works of art for your viewing and tasting pleasure. In doing so, they stimulate future generations to take an active interest in developing these skills. A fine cultural mix revealing both the identity of the whole nation and their pride in it.
Heemoana Race, 7th Edition
Mid-June
Outrigger canoe race between the passes of Teahupoo (Hava'e) and Punaauia (Taapuna), with the participation of local athletes and other Pacific countries.
Tahiti-Moorea Sailing Rendez-vous
June 27-28
A day sailing starting from Marina Taina to Moorea in the morning. Then, mini-tradeshow and activities scheduled in the afternoon and followed by a race between the participants.

There are many canoe races throughout the month of July.
July 3 & 4: "Heiva I Tahiti", different races with different categories in Papeete, Tahiti.
July 5: "Heiva I Tahiti Tane Toa", circle island tour of Moorea, departure from Tahiti, six padders.
July 10: "Te Aito Tama", one paddler marathon in Mahina, Tahiti.
July 11: Te Aito Va'ahine", one padder marathon in Mahina, Tahiti.
July 14: "Super Tauati Edouard Maamaatua", 16 paddlers from the airport to To'ata Place.
July 19 and July 26: 3rd and 4th Training Selection for the Championship in Taaone/Pirae, Tahiti.
Heiva I Tahiti 2008 (Cultural Festival)
July 7-July 20 - Tahiti
The largest cultural festival in all of Tahiti taking place at beautiful To'ata Square in Papeete, Tahiti. In addition to the dance and singing competitions, there are sporting events, cultural demonstrations, cuisine and artisans.
International Golf Open
Early July
International event at the 18-hole Olivier Breaud golf course located at Atimaono in Mataiea, Tahiti.
"Te Aito Va'a"
July 10-July 12
Three-day individual outrigger canoe race. The top 100 qualified rowers will compete in the "Super Aito Va'a".
"Heiva Tuaro Maohi 2008"
July 11-July 14
Traditional sports' competition including javelin throwing, stone lifting, coconut tree climbing and canoe racing at the "Museum of Tahiti and Her Islands", from noon to 4pm.

August 2: "Mata Ara race", one paddler marathon from Pirae to Punaauia - Tahiti.
August 23: Championship in all categories, three paddlers marathon from Pirae/Mahina/Pirae.
August 30: Championship in all categories, three paddlers marathon, from Pirae/Papeete/Pirae.
"Super Aito Va'a"
Aug. 13-Aug. 15
Three-day individual outrigger canoe race featuring the best hundred rowers qualified from the "Te Aito Va'a" race, over distances of 5, 10, 15, 20 km.
